DR. ASHMORE:
As a more economical way to determine if there is a UTI present when a urinalysis result is equivocal. A second reason was to differentiate feline cystitis from infection.

- Monitoring pets with intermittent, chronic urinary infections.
- Pets suspected to have a UTI but have a normal urinalysis.
- When performing a urine protein/creatinine ratio to ensure no infection present.

We treat for the infection.

Pursue other causes for the clinical symptoms.

Perform on initial diagnosis.
