Why did you originally purchase RapidBac™Vet ?

DR. ASHMORE:
As a more economical way to determine if there is a UTI present when a urinalysis result is equivocal. A second reason was to differentiate feline cystitis from infection.

Under what circumstances do you use RapidBac™Vet ?

DR. ASHMORE:

  • Monitoring pets with intermittent, chronic urinary infections.
  • Pets suspected to have a UTI but have a normal urinalysis.
  • When performing a urine protein/creatinine ratio to ensure no infection present.

DR. ASHMORE:
This is a quick and easy test to perform to increase your confidence in diagnosing in or out a urinary tract infection.

What do you do when you get a positive result with RapidBac™Vet ?

DR. ASHMORE:
We treat for the infection.

What do you do when you get a negative result with RapidBac™Vet ?

DR. ASHMORE:
Pursue other causes for the clinical symptoms.

How do you use RapidBac™Vet in cases of diabetic patients?

DR. ASHMORE:
Perform on initial diagnosis.

Who in the clinic actually performs the test?

We have a lab technician who performs the test.

How long have you been using RapidBac™Vet ?

Dr. Ashmore was born and raised in Arizona. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2000. He returned to Arizona and has been working at Animal Health Services since 2005.
